bridal shower gifts {give | receive}

Is anyone else trembling with excitement that it is nearly wedding season?  The intensity of my anticipation for this year’s wedding season may be related to the fact that one of my besties is tying the knot at the end of summer.  With her big day, some pals in Wyoming, and this weekend’s black tie wedding I am très thrilled about all of the upcoming nuptials.  Naturally with wedding season brings bridal showers and yours truly has compiled a little list of items that most brides surely desire and would love to receive.

{Personalized stationery with a gal’s future name is useful and sweet.  Include a nice pen in a coordinating color to be extra nice.}

{A longer sweet chemise is comfortable, charming, and offers a nice break from skimpy lingerie.  Sometimes a girl just wants to be cozy!}

{Adorably dotted champagne flutes for many celebrations to come.  Mimosa anyone?}

{I am a believer in giving magazine subscriptions.  She’ll think of you each month when it lands in her mailbox.}

{A super versatile frittata pan, which is used almost daily in our house for breakfast (best eggs ever) and dinner (sautéing small portions of vegetables), will be a much-appreciated present.}

{A personalized “established in” sign will always be cherished.}

{I personally feel one can never have too many darling dessert plates.}

{Matryoshka doll measuring cups set, which reminds me of a certain special bride with an affinity for matryoshka dolls.}

{A wine rack is always a lovely choice…especially when stocked with wine.}

{A set of mixing bowls is definitely practical but that does not mean boring.  The colors of this set make stirring up something delicious a little more enjoyable.}

{A signet ring engraved with her new monogram or just one letter is chic and thoughtful.}

{I just j’adore glassybaby.  Few people dislike candle holders and the color options are plenty and beautiful (hint: buy them in the colors of her wedding theme).  Plus, they are a product of the Pacific Northwest!}

{Not that I am relegating all women to the kitchen but if a gal is going to do some cooking why not rock an adorable apron while she’s at it?}

A small token of advice: Remember the difference between bridal showers and bachelorette parties.  Some gifts are better saved for the latter so poor grandmothers do not have to listen to the names of elicit sex acts found in coupon books.  Poor grandma.  Poor red-in-the-face bride.
