banana carob chip bars for spoiled puppies

Is it ridiculous to bake homemade goodies for dogs?  Absolutely not!  I try to believe that deep down inside Charlie’s food-obsessed mind (he is his mother’s son, after all) he appreciates the crude-free treats.  A few healthy ingredients are all that is needed to create a tasty delicacy for your spoiled rotten dogs.

Banana Carob Chip Bars

{Ingredients}

One egg

1/3 cup applesauce

1/4 cup honey

One mashed banana

1/4 cup sour cream

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 1/2 cups unbleached flour

One teaspoon baking soda

3/4 cup chopped walnuts

3/4 cup carob chips

{Directions}

{Preheat the oven to 350°.  Mix the wet ingredients with a whisk.  When combined stir in the flour and baking soda.  Fold in the walnuts and carob chips.}

{In a greased 9″x13″ baking pan spread the batter evenly.  Bake for 40 minutes.}

{After they have cooked and cooled, cut into small bars depending the size of your spoiled pup.  Charlie gets 1″x1″ squares.}

{Store in an airtight container.}

{Now share with your furry pal and get ready for some begging!}
