fishing for a casual friday outfit

It’s tempting to throw on a cozy hoodie and sneakers for casual Fridays in an already casual environment.  I admit I have done that in the past but the moment I see my first patient I feel unprofessional, sloppy, and regret my early morning laziness.  A quick way to update a basic collared shirt is to throw on a vest.  This twill utility vest has proven to be quite versatile and I love the contrast of girly jewelry with the rugged outerwear.

{Yes, that collar is definitely popped.  I am guilty.}

{This delicate necklace was a birthday gift from my friend Alex who scored it on Etsy.  Love it!}

{I think boots over jeans at a hospital can work, however, I’d recommend mid-calf rather than knee length which may appear too risqué.}

If I were to head out for drinks post-workday I’d ditch the boots for heels and add a layered pearl necklace.
